Our Story

Pine Meadows Golf Course offers a unique 9-hole layout that winds through the quiet beauty of Tygh Valley, Oregon. Players will encounter a mix of wide-open fairways, scattered trees, and gentle elevation changes that add both charm and challenge to each round. Signature holes like the infamous “Hole from Hell,” a demanding double-dogleg par 4, and the uphill par 3 on hole 4 with its elevated tee and tight green, keep things interesting for golfers of all levels. The course plays around 2,460 yards from the back tees and features small, well-kept greens that reward accuracy over power. With its walkable design and stunning views of Mount Hood in the distance, Pine Meadows delivers a round that feels as much about enjoying the land as it is about the game.

Cross the bridge and conquer hell!

Our infamous “Hole from Hell” has taken many forms over the years, but its challenge remains legendary.

In 1994, it was crowned one of Oregon’s worst holes by The Oregonian—and for good reason. This 224-yard double dogleg forces golfers to thread a narrow shot through dense trees, then shape a perfect hook to find the green. It’s not just a test of skill—it’s a battle of will. Many have tried to conquer it. Most walk away humbled.

Think you’ve got what it takes? Challenge yourself and visit Pine Meadows to face the Hole from Hell for yourself.

“The ones who mentioned it were very emphatic that it is the worst one of all.”

-The Oregonian, 1994

A Tribute to Darlene

Darlene Nordquist was the heart of Pine Meadows.

As the wife of the course founder and a beloved member of our community, she poured her love and support into every part of this course. In her memory, a dedicated bridge and bench now offer golfers a quiet place to pause, reflect, and honor the woman whose spirit helped shape Pine Meadows into the welcoming place it is today.

This special tribute was made possible by the generous support of the Pine Meadows community, with heartfelt thanks to Dean Hager and Bronzecraft Memorials Inc. for their donation of the memorial plaque.
